L’Hommage is the newest initiative from Hakhan Ilhan, the respected DC restauranteur who operates several other acclaimed eateries in the District. Teaming up with executive chef Josh Laban Perkins, Ilhan has conceptualized L’Hommage as place where you can enjoy fine French food with your collar unbuttoned. The enormous, attractive dining room, which seats 200, and the inviting and spacious outdoor patio (room for almost 100 more), makes it easy to find a table.
Traditional French offerings like onion soup, duck terrine, and boeuf bourguignon are favorites among Yelp reviewers, but L’Hommage is not just for hearty dinners. The bartenders preside over a wine list that offers 200 options, as well as a variety of imported draft beers and custom cocktails, with happy hour specials that run until closing Monday through Thursday. A Sunday brunch showcases the work of the in-house bakery and patisserie staff.
In a rush, Yale West? There’s also an adjoining bakery area that sells grab-and-go offerings like sandwiches, pastries, and simple entrees.
