Sips and Suppers is more than just a food festival; it's a vehicle for creating lasting change in Washington, DC and beyond. Alice Waters launched the event in 2009 to increase the visibility and funds of D.C. Central Kitchen and Martha's Table. Whereas D.C. Central Kitchen gives adults in need a leg up with culinary career training, Martha's Table focuses on helping at-risk kids develop healthy habits by providing nourishing food and nutrition education.
Each year, Sips and Suppers serves as a fundraiser for these philanthropic organizations in your city — and it's raised more than $2.5 million over the years. Be part of the fun this year on January 27th and 28th when Sips and Suppers takes over the Newseum and 35 private abodes across DC. On the 27th, come to the Newseum for the Sips portion of the event, which features artisan cocktails crafted by local mixologists. On January 28th, savor dishes crafted by DC's top chefs at the homes around the city. Tickets start at $150 for "Sips" and $650 for "Suppers."
